HOW_TO_PLAY.DOC

Move pieces according to standard chess rules. Click a piece to select it, then click the destination square. The goal is to checkmate your opponent's king—putting it under attack with no legal escape moves.

CONTROLS.CFG

Desktop: Click to select and move pieces. Keyboard mode available in settings for algebraic notation input (e.g., "e2-e4"). Mobile: Tap pieces and destination squares.

TIPS_AND_TRICKS.TXT

Control the center early (d4, e4, d5, e5 squares); develop knights and bishops before moving queen; castle early for king safety; don't move the same piece twice in opening; think three moves ahead—your move, opponent's response, your counter.
